At Planet Rock, our passion for basketball and dedication to developing young athletes come together in a transformative program — the Astronaut Basketball Academy.
As former Division I athletes, we understand the focus, discipline, and drive it takes to excel at the highest levels. Our program is designed to equip players with the skills, mindset, and confidence to compete, lead, and grow — both on and off the court. We have high expectations of our athletes. Together, we will inspire our athletes to maximize their talent and abilities. ABA has high standards for everyone involved in the club.
All ABA players must demonstrate a commitment to the game of basketball through teamwork, hustle, intensity, and a positive attitude. All players are expected to possess the following talents and attributes necessary to blend their personality and physical skills into the team unit:

Respect for others, and oneself, with the desire to see those on your team succeed.
ATHLETIC ABILITY
Speed, above average ball handling and shooting, average agility, and maintain peak physical conditioning.
CONDUCT
Follow the directions and guidance provided by team coaches. Behavior that leaves a positive impression when representing the Astronaut Basketball Academy. Show no disrespect towards game officials, fans, other athletes, or coaches. Do not use profanity, or ethnic or racial slurs. Do not strike or otherwise physically abuse other athletes. Never exhibit unsportsmanlike conduct.
ATTENDANCE + EFFORT
Athletes are expected to attend all practices and tournaments and give the coach and team their best effort at all times. Excused absences will be given for family and school matters. All absences should be cleared with the coach ahead of time. Coaches will not tolerate poor efforts from the athlete or unexcused absences. Frequent excused absences or poor efforts will result in suspension from practices, games, tournaments and possible expulsion from the club.
There is NO “equal” play rule. We believe that your investment pays for practice time not for playing time. If you have any questions other then “playing time” questions please feel free to approach your coach. We do not promise equal playing time but do promise playing time to all who show up to practice and give their best effort. Please feel free to contact the Academy President, Terry Woods to resolve any potential game time conflicts.

Coach Nas is not just a coach to me, he is a mentor and a friend.
I have had my fair share of coaches, but none have had the impact on me that coach has. He has an incredible understanding of the game and knows how to bring out the best in each player. He has this incredible ability to break down complex plays and techniques, making them easier for us to understand.
Thanks to his coaching, my basketball skills have greatly improved and I feel prepared going into my first high-school season. I am so thankful for all of the time that coach has spent teaching me the game, giving me feedback, and pushing me so that I could become a better player.
